I was a guest at the wedding of two friends from a local church we were attending at the time. There was an official photographer on hand setting up many of the shots you see below, especially the ones of all the boys.. (I have since 'borrowed the idea). However I am very pleased with the shots of them walking towards me and even more so with the ones of them in the carriage. I had noticed that there was only one way in and out of the church grounds and so as the guests were getting their final shots outside of the church I climbed up onto a green telephone wiring box that was positioned half way along the exit road. No one else has these shots and I have to admit to feeling pretty silly stood on there at the time.. but I do think it was worth it!

Claire is Peter Emblin's daughter and so this was always going to be 'my gig' so to speak.. could hardly let my best friend down now could I??
This was the first time I had used a Nikon D3100 and it took some getting used too. The strange thing for me about this wedding is that I was hoping to be able to to certain shots, ones we had seen in other people's wedding albums and thought, 'that would be nice'. Of all these shots, the one with Claire holding her flowers is by far my favouite. Although you can't see her very clearly that was the whole point.. the shot is all about her flowers..

Peter Emblin is my best friend, we have known each other for almost 20 years and so on the day of his wedding to Katherine I was his best man, mini bus driver, and photographer.. all in a days work...
In the last week I have learnt that the whole idea of leaving a single colour in a photo and making all the rest black and white is about ten years out of 'vogue', it is as a proffessional told me, 'so not now'. Well, we didn't know that at the time, and the happy couple simply love this concept, so much so that Pete went onto edit some of my photo's himself in this very same way.
